Spoon Rest Quest

I had been on a quest to find a kitchen spoon rest.

This is what I ended up with....

Went to so many places & stainless steel spoon rests were sold out.

I found this brand new one on eBay for less than $20 (inc postage).

I am very happy (and so is the white stone benchtop).

Book - Spin the Bottle

This week I am reading (listening to) is Spin The Bottle by Monica McInerney.

Love it so far! Main character is an event manager - so I can relate!

Lainey Byrne is a master at controlled chaos, juggling her hectic, demanding job, her chef boyfriend with his crazy hours, and her roiling family with all its daily dramas. But her life truly threatens to spin out of control when her aunt May, who owns a B&B in Ireland, passes away. In order for the Byrnes to collect their inheritance, someone from the family must take over Aunt May's business for a year. And apparently that someone is Lainey.

Between running a run-down, virtually guest-free B&B (without the slightest ability to cook or clean), worrying about her family from afar, adjusting to country life, and dealing with the complications of long-distance love, Lainey is in way over her head. But when a reunion with a (gorgeous) childhood friend sparks unexpected complications, Lainey realizes that fate may have another path for her-a direction she never imagined.

Telephone Cabinet Re-vamp p1

I purchased this telephone cabinet on eBay for the bargain price of $30 (no one else bid against me?).

My intention for this cute cabinet is to be used as wine storage in the dining room.

Of course it's going to be painted black to match the dutchess.

Grand used the same grey under coat as the dutchess.

Grand took the wooden handles off.

And did some drilling.

While all this was happening Nan was upstairs make scones, jam & cream!

Good AIME Day 3

Day 3 of AIME was very busy!

First event was at the Town Hall for breakfast.

Check out that ceiling!

The entertainment was Soul Mystique (they were on Australia's Got Talent) those quick costume change people - very good!

From there I went to inspect this little gem called the Myer Mural Hall - its not open yet ..... But just look at it!

Stunning & it's located in Myers (it's an old heritage protected building).

Next stop was Flemmington Race Track!

Morning tea!

Last stop was the National Gallery of Victoria!

Lunch was at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

From the lunch we attended a briefing.

Then raced back to the hotel, did a site inspection & got dressed for the cocktail party at St Kilda Beach Baths.

Lovely gift waiting for me from the Sebel.

Day 4 will be filled with appointments (kind of like speed dating).
