Outdoor Art Re-vamp

I got these (4) metal artworks from Target last year during all the sales (half price I might add).

I love the detail - but white wasn't going to fly.

So we sprayed them (guess what colour).....black!

Brett is a great spray painter!

Here is the final product:

Telephone Cabinet Re-vamp p1

I purchased this telephone cabinet on eBay for the bargain price of $30 (no one else bid against me?).

My intention for this cute cabinet is to be used as wine storage in the dining room.

Of course it's going to be painted black to match the dutchess.

Grand used the same grey under coat as the dutchess.

Grand took the wooden handles off.

And did some drilling.

While all this was happening Nan was upstairs make scones, jam & cream!

Lazy Susan Re-vamp

We purchased our square 8 seater table about 7 years ago.

Don't you love the pink chairs!

When you have short arms you really need a lazy susan to reach the middle of the table!

We quickly found out big lazy susans were expensive. So we made this one & painted it eggplant to match our old dining room feature wall.

Just made out of a pre-fab table top & a plastic tv rotating thingy (see below) - shes a bloody beauty!

This time I wanted to paint it black to match the new dining room theme - black, white, pink & New York glam!

During the spray paint session...

And done.... This room isn't 100% finished yet.

Love the Empire State Building centre piece.

1920s Dutchess Re-vamp

Ok the big Dutchess Reveal!

Well here is how she turned out!

This is the Dining Room (black, white, pink, New York Glam).

Love the legs!

Replaced the knobs!

Added black felt to the draw!

These cute little black stem glasses are my Nan's!

The silver tray & decanter with glasses are my Mums.

This Decanter is from my Nan & the silver us from my Mums tea set!

Brett made the shelves & painted them black!

Lantern Re-Vamp

Keeping with our black theme we decided to paint our pale green outdoor lantern!

See the lantern in the pic below (under window, on the table).

During the process, first coat.

And the finished product....

Goes well with the new black outdoor chairs!

Brett's very handy on the spray can!

1920s Dutchess Re-Vamp p1

As you may know I decided to dabble in a little furniture restoration!

Mixing the new with the old and all that!

I wanted to paint this dutchess my signature colour..... Black!

A little worse for wear when I won her!

Sanding - fun times!

I decided to recruit my Grandad to help me with this project.

1) he is neater & more patient then me

2) heaps of experience with wood as he has a vintage yacht

3) owning a yacht means lots of painting experience

4) I have no idea what I am doing

5) Grand has a sander - a must!

So below meet Grandad (Grand) aka Keith!

Now Grand did the majority of the project but I did do a bit - see! Grand even took the pic with my iPhone!

I went with a water based, gloss paint applied with a brush.

I also went for a tinted grey undercoat.

Extreme close up!

Fingers crossed this works!

Looking better!

Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Park Bench Bargain

For a couple of weeks I have been investigating prices of Park Benches online & at the shops.

I wanted a very "straight up & down" type bench. No fancy iron sides.

Found this one on eBay & won it for the bargain price of $56.00!

Brett & I sanded it & painted black.

Pretty happy with the results!

And After..........
